Large Gathering of Students Worships at NC State
Amid numerous events vying for attention, approximately 6,000 students from North Carolina filled an arena near their campus on Tuesday to celebrate their faith in Jesus.
This gathering in Raleigh was part of the UniteUS tour, which began in 2023 but has rapidly gained momentum, especially among Gen Z. Just this fall, over 40,000 college students joined UniteUS events. Notable turnouts included 5,500 at the University of Cincinnati, 7,000 at Grand Canyon University, and 8,000 at the University of Tennessee. The University of South Florida and the University of Oklahoma also contributed with 7,000 and 9,000 attendees, respectively.
Many students from North Carolina State University publicly expressed their beliefs, and reports indicated that dozens were baptized during the event.
“What a great night at North Carolina State University!! We continue to see new miraculous movements of God on each college campus,” said UniteUS founder Tonya Prewett in her Instagram post.
She added, “Glory be to God!” A video shared alongside her post captured the excitement, declaring, “This is a comeback.”
The event featured a musical service called the Tuesday Exaltation Service, plus prayer and a gospel message.
Prewett mentioned that a vast prayer network supports the UniteUS movement. “Prayer can change a nation, but God is doing more. Something greater is coming,” she emphasized. “The unseen prayer network behind the scenes is incredible, and you can see the effects on college campuses.”
She also praised the on-site volunteers, who dedicate their weekends and even pay for their travel just to help with these events. “Their hearts are on fire,” she remarked.
Every UniteUS event is associated with powerful stories showcasing the gospel’s transformative impact. Prewett recounted a particular story from an April event at Baylor. A student, initially unaware of what was happening, followed a group and inadvertently joined the gathering. By the end of the night, he had shifted from being an atheist to accepting faith, ultimately getting baptized.
The UniteUS tour will continue its journey, with the next stop set for Clemson University on November 18th.
