A large group of faculty and staff at the University of North Carolina (UNC) wants student protesters to be allowed to return to class after anti-Israel demonstrations erupted on campus.
The protesters in question have been suspended, and 700 faculty members have signed a petition asking for their pardon, WRAL announced. report Monday.
The newspaper reported that law enforcement officers had removed and detained dozens of demonstrators from the campus several days earlier.
Amid the war between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas, protests have erupted on college campuses across the United States.
