Philadelphia 76ers guard Kelly Oubre Jr. reportedly crashed his Lamborghini just hours after his team lost 104-101 to the New York Knicks in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
The Philadelphia Police Department said the accident occurred at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday after Oubre “ran a red light” and collided with another vehicle. TMZ. There were no reports of injuries to any of the parties involved in the collision. Earlier in the night, Oubre and the Sixers gave the Knicks a 2-0 series lead when Knicks guard Donte DiVincenzo made a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left in Game 2 at Madison Square Garden. Initial reports said Oubre was driving his beloved 2021 matte purple Lamborghini and began attacking a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. According to TMZ, both vehicles were damaged in the crash and a tow truck was required to remove them from the scene.
It is unclear whether there were any passengers in either vehicle at the time of the collision.
The famous athlete has previously spoken about how much he enjoys Lamborghinis and even featured the luxury sports car in a magazine photo shoot. intersection magazine.

“After I got my driver’s license, I was much more interested in cars than the ability to drive,” Oubre said in a 2022 interview.
“I mean, I’ve been a car guy all my life. I always feel very comfortable in a nice car.”
The Philadelphia 76ers are aware that Oubre was involved in a car accident, but have not made any public comment at this time. According to TMZ, a source close to the situation confirmed that Oubre is expected to remain in the lineup and continue playing with the team despite the conflict.
