77-Year-Old Uber Driver Shot Dead in Targeted Attack

A 77-year-old Uber driver was shot dead outside the Philadelphia Water Serra Lounge Wednesday morning during an attack targeting a driver’s passenger.

The surveillance video caught images of a woman hugging an Uber passenger while he was preparing to get into the car from the hookah lounge. Two suspects from the Jeep Grand Cherokee run out and run towards the Uber vehicle with their guns drawn on them.

The shot was fired and attacked passengers multiple times, leaving 77-year-old Oratunji W. Boraj with a bullet wound in his head.

NBC 10 It has been reported The Boraj “managed to drive the car to the corner of 18th Avenue and headed for Chestnut Street, where his car jumped over the curb and hit a light pole.” Boraj died at the scene of the crash.

Uber prohibits both drivers and passengers from arming themselves in self-defense.

Uber Firearms Policy say: “Riders and their guests, drivers and delivery people are prohibited from carrying firearms while using the Uber platform to the extent permitted by applicable law. Anyone who violates this policy may lose access to Uber.”
