An 84-year-old man was found dead in a pond at a Bronx golf course Friday afternoon, police said.
Police received a 911 call for a water rescue just after 2 p.m. after a man was found unconscious and unresponsive floating in the water at Pelham Bay and Split Rock Golf Course.
Police say there was an abandoned golf cart next to the pond. It is unclear whether he was an active golfer who was using the cart, sources told the Post.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body appeared to have decomposed, the source added.
His identity has not been released pending notification of his family.
The cause of the man’s death is currently under investigation, but police say they do not suspect any criminal activity at this time.
The newspaper has contacted officials at Pelham Bay and Split Rock Golf Course for comment.
