An elderly woman in Seattle found herself in a dire situation recently. At 88 years old, she was hospitalized with serious injuries following a brutal assault. It’s reported that a man attacked her, biting off one of her fingers and stealing her jewelry.

The incident took place on October 13 in the Rainier Beach area, specifically on the 9900 block of 64th Street South. Police have shared surveillance images of the assailant, who is believed to be in his 30s.

According to authorities, the woman was outside cleaning some items in her backyard when the man approached her and demanded her belongings. When she resisted, he violently assaulted her and dragged her into a garage where the attack continued.

During this horrifying event, he not only stole her jewelry but also inflicted severe injuries, resulting in her being admitted to the hospital with critical head injuries, as detailed in the police report.

Witnesses say the victim screamed for help, and in the aftermath, she expressed to officers that she feared for her life, believing the man had aimed to kill her.

She was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where she remains in serious but stable condition.
