9 injured in mass casualty event in NYC after car plows into civilians, cops during New Year’s Eve celebration

At least nine people were injured overnight in New York City when cars plowed into New Year's Eve revelers and police officers.

The incident occurred at West 34th Street and Ninth Avenue near Madison Square Garden, according to the New York City Fire Department.

Authorities said the crash resulted in multiple casualties.

According to the Daily Mail, the driver drove the vehicle onto the pavement, hitting civilians and police officers before coming to a stop.
