911 call shows Sherrone Moore's wife claiming he made suicidal threats

newA recent 911 call involving former Michigan State coach Sherone Moore has raised concerns regarding his mental health, indicating he may have been contemplating suicide.

TMZ released audio from the call where Kelly, Moore’s wife, communicates with authorities about her husband’s alarming state after his dismissal in December.

In the tense exchange, she expressed her worries, asking, “Could you please track his cell phone?” when asked why she feared for his safety. “He said he was trying to kill himself,” she told responders, explaining her husband’s distress following his job loss.

She further noted, “He just called me and said he got fired from his job and was in crisis. I told him I loved him and wanted him to come home, but…I didn’t know where he was. He said he was on the highway.”

Moore was arrested last month, facing multiple charges including felony burglary. He was charged with a third-degree crime, along with two misdemeanor counts of stalking and trespassing. Having posted bail, he is due back in court on January 22nd, where he entered a not guilty plea.

Additionally, allegations have surfaced regarding a long history of domestic violence with a staff member with whom he had reportedly sustained an inappropriate relationship. Court documents reveal details from the staffer’s attorney about an incident where Moore allegedly entered her home without consent just prior to his arrest.

Further prosecution claims outline that Moore was in an “intimate relationship” with a Michigan State employee for years and that the woman had recently ended it. Following the split, he reportedly contacted her multiple times, trying to persuade her to cooperate with the university’s investigation.

The situation escalated when Moore allegedly forced his way into her residence, confronted her with threats while holding a butter knife and scissors, and said, “My blood is on your hands” and “You ruined my life.”

If convicted of the charges, he could face over five years in prison, which would severely hinder any chance of future reinstatement in his coaching role.

During his tenure at Michigan, Moore had a record of 16-8, with an 8-5 record in his first season and 7-3 in the subsequent year. He also missed a couple of games due to suspension related to an ongoing investigation about sign-stealing at the school.

Ultimately, he was succeeded by former Utah coach Kyle Whittingham.
