Teen Charged in Fatal Stabbing Incident in Bronx
A 17-year-old girl now faces murder charges following a tragic stabbing that resulted in the death of another teenager, 16-year-old Aliya Williams, during a dispute at a deli in the Bronx on Tuesday afternoon.
Employees at a nearby store on Boston Road recounted the harrowing moments leading up to the attack. One worker shared his experience with the Post, describing how he attempted to comfort Aliya, who was gripping his arm. “I was trying to calm her down, but she just wasn’t steady. I could feel her pulse fluctuating—fast, slow, fast, slow. I thought, this isn’t good,” he recalled.
“It’s like she died right there in my arms,” he continued. “I felt her pulse fade, and that’s when I realized she was gone.”
According to police reports, Aliya sustained multiple stab wounds to her face, chest, and body. She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The violent incident reportedly erupted from a confrontation between two girls inside the deli, a detail confirmed by Aliya’s grandmother. “It all escalated so quickly,” she said.
Later that same evening, authorities arrested the 17-year-old suspect, charging her with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
One local business owner, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed concern about the rising violence in the area. “We knew something like this would eventually happen. It’s attracting a different type of crowd. I’ve seen lots of messages asking if this is a safe store. I worry people will stop coming here,” he noted.
A neighbor of the victims shared her disbelief at the shocking crime, remarking, “I’m absolutely in shock. It feels like only the elderly hear about violence happening in our neighborhood.”
