Andrew Cuomo, facing renewed scrutiny as he campaigns for New York City mayor, has made a rather unfortunate comment about “touching more people,” prompting ridicule and backlash.

The former governor, who stepped down in 2021 amidst serious allegations of sexual harassment from numerous women, has become a target for criticism once again. He recently discussed his campaign strategy, stating that his approach would resonate better on social media, especially among younger voters.

Critics wasted no time to respond. Lindsay Boylan, the former aide who accused Cuomo of harassment, took to social media, urging him to refrain from “touching” anyone. She reminded the public that they “all paid enough for” his past indiscretions that ultimately led to his resignation.

Her sentiment was echoed by others online, with comments like, “We don’t need him to touch more people, that’s why he had to resign last time.” One user even questioned, “Are you going to touch more people?” highlighting the stark discomfort with his choice of words.

Another commenter remarked that it was concerning to hear Cuomo talk about reaching out more in such a way, suggesting a societal expectation for him to choose his words more wisely.

When approached about Boylan’s statements, a spokesperson for Cuomo dismissed them as false accusations, expressing disappointment that she continues to spread what they term misinformation.
