KGB documents related to JFK’s assassination set to be made public in a few months.

KGB files on JFK assassination to be released in months: Luna

This fall, the American public will get access to files from the Soviet-era KGB concerning President Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, as announced by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FLA).

She indicated that the Russian government has been handling the release of this information, and stated, “We should see it coming out soon.” During an appearance on News Nation with Chris Cuomo, she mentioned the House Task Force on Federal Secrets Confidentialization would ensure this information reaches JFK researchers and the public in the coming months.

However, she didn’t go into details about what the information may entail or how it will be released.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has yet to respond to inquiries about the matter.

Luna noted that the task force’s findings support a long-held belief that Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t act alone in the assassination and suggested that the CIA played a role in covering up pertinent details.

She explained, “The KGB was actually monitoring Oswald while he was in Russia, and he wasn’t a great marksman.” There’s more information to uncover, she believes.

She added, “The official story has been fragmented over time.”

Speculation about CIA involvement and the existence of other possible assassins has persisted for decades.

Earlier this year, in March, the National Archives made available over 2,000 files linked to Kennedy’s assassination, following President Trump’s January executive order that mandated the release of all related documents.

In 2022, around 13,000 additional files were disclosed, marking the largest release since 2018.

On Wednesday, Luna remarked that federal agents attempted to retrieve KGB files in the 1990s, but didn’t succeed.

“They did reach out to the Russian government for those files, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful,” she explained.

The 1991 film “JFK” reignited interest in a possible conspiracy involving a second shooter, and filmmaker Oliver Stone, who depicted the assassination as a government conspiracy, testified before Luna’s task force earlier this year.

He urged the panel to re-examine the assassination in good faith, setting aside political biases.
