Is DEI responsible for the fatal floods in Texas?

Charlie Kirk from Turning Point USA is facing criticism after Austin’s Fire Chief indicated that it was a rental that might have contributed to more fatalities during a recent incident. After looking into this matter, said BlazeTV host Sarah Gonzalez, he possibly has a point.

“Democrats seem to ignore the more than 100 individuals who perished in Texas Hill Country. What’s shocking is that without Day, the casualties could have been fewer,” Kirk mentioned during “The Charlie Kirk Show.”

“This tragic event in Texas is just another instance. It’s not merely incompetence. It’s Day, undermining a merit-based system, and it seems likely that more lives could have been spared due to DEI initiatives,” he continued.

“Whenever Charlie finds himself in hot water, I generally feel he’s been misinterpreted,” Gonzalez commented, mentioning that it was clearly a bold remark.

While some in the left-wing media label Kirk as “racist,” Gonzalez believes it’s due to a lack of deeper investigation into his comments.

“This Fire Chief has previously stated his diversity targets. It’s not just a casual remark. Diversity goals. Is this supposed to be some kind of joke?” Gonzalez questioned.

Not only does Austin’s Fire Chief have stated diversity targets, but he was also recognized as a significant figure when the city appointed its first African-American fire chief over a year ago.

“I won’t merely focus on being the first African-American fire chief, as that’s not what’s truly important. The key takeaway is that I won’t be the last,” he noted.

“I’m not sure. What matters is saving as many lives as we can and extinguishing fires efficiently. That seems to be a starting point. Emergency response times are crucial,” he added.

The report also highlighted how the Chief emphasized increasing diversity within the department.

“These goals are significant, particularly in the context of recent events in Texas Hill Country, especially related to the Austin Firefighters Association,” she mentioned.

The Austin Fire Department received a call for assistance on July 2, where Bob Nicks from the Austin Firefighters Association asserted that the boat crew was prepared to assist before flooding started.

However, they were instructed by the Austin Chief to halt their efforts.

“It’s absolutely unacceptable that Austin’s fire chief Joel G. Baker is preventing Austin’s skilled firefighters from aiding Kerrville. Baker’s choices could result in unnecessary loss of life due to this abrupt halt in duty,” Gonzalez expressed.

“This isn’t just a matter of the firefighter association posting something on Facebook,” she stated.
