Krasniy Oktyabr Inc. USA Issues Fish Product Recall

Krasniy Oktyabr Inc. based in New York has announced a recall of certain fish products due to a potential risk of botulinum poisoning.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that the company’s Aral Silver Vobla brand may pose health risks as the product was released widely in retail stores.

This particular item features two fish, packaged in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag labeled as a “Kazakhstan product.”

The concerns were raised after a food inspector from the New York State Department of Agriculture conducted sampling, which led to further analysis by the New York State Food Research Institute.

The FDA indicated that the sale of the affected fish is prohibited because the Clostridium botulinum spores can be concentrated more in the internal organs than in other parts.

The statement read, “Evacuated fish are linked to the outbreak of botulinum poisoning.”

Symptoms of botulism can include dizziness, issues with vision, challenges in speaking and swallowing, muscle weakness, and abdominal discomfort. In severe cases, timely medical intervention is essential to prevent serious illnesses or fatalities.

Fortunately, as of now, there have been no reports of illness connected to these recalled fish products.

Customers who bought a package of dried salted vobla from the Aral Silver brand are encouraged to return it to the store for a full refund.

For any inquiries, individuals can reach out to Krasniy Oktyabr Inc. USA in Brooklyn at 718-858-6720.

The company has not yet responded to inquiries for further comments.
