Coldplay enthusiasts inadvertently highlighted a relationship involving a tech CEO and his HR chief, sharing a simple remark about the incident: “Play a silly game… win a silly prize.”
Grace Springer, 28, recorded the moment astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Christine Cabot embraced during a “kiss-cam” segment at the band’s concert in Boston on Wednesday.
A devoted Coldplay follower mentioned to the US sun that she was taken aback by the firestorm her footage sparked.
“I wasn’t aware of who they were. I just thought the kiss cam reaction was amusing and decided to share it,” she recalled.
“I do feel a bit guilty for upheaving their lives, but then again, they’re playing a silly game… win a silly prize.”
The uncomfortable clip captured Byron and Cabot trying to cover their faces after the jumbotron’s unexpected focus on them.
This is the latest in CEOs.
As Cabot shielded her face and Byron ducked out of sight, lead singer Chris Martin commented, “They’re either being unfaithful or just very shy.”
Byron soon came to light after the video went viral. He is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot has recently ended her marriage to Kenneth Thornby.
“I truly hope their partners can heal from this and find the happiness they deserve moving forward,” Springer expressed.
“I hope my video turns out to be a blessing for them.”
Byron and Cabot have not yet made any public statements regarding the embarrassing situation.
