Spencer Pratt’s Disturbing Campaign Video for Mayor of Los Angeles

Spencer Pratt, a mayoral candidate in Los Angeles, has released a new campaign video that paints a troubling picture of the city, showcasing the daily challenges faced by locals.

The video features aerial shots of an ordinary Los Angeles neighborhood, gradually focusing on the homeless individuals and the scattered debris at the block’s edge.

In the caption accompanying the video, Pratt states, “There are over 40,000 drug addicts in L.A. holding Angelenos hostage. All it takes is for scared parents to keep their kids from enjoying the quiet streets of their beautiful neighborhoods.” He urges voters, saying, “Enough is enough. We are done being held hostage in our own homes. Vote for Pratt today!”

Set to a rendition of Soundgarden’s 1994 song “Black Hole Sun,” the ad follows a harrowing account from a pregnant mother who encountered two homeless addicts while walking with her young daughter in Hollywood.

Kristin Manson, the mother and a technology executive, expressed her shock and anger about the dangerous situation. “I was scared. It was worse than I expected,” she conveyed, noting her familiarity with neighborhood issues from numerous community meetings. “I’ve seen how stretched this city is.”

In her post about the incident, she mentioned that she was reconsidering her support for the incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and the socialist council member Nitya Raman, now leaning towards Pratt.

“I defended you. But you lost my trust,” Manson expressed in her tweet. “Enough is enough. We can’t keep watching our neighborhoods live in fear.”

Pratt’s recent outreach seems to be resonating with voters.

Many responses to his ad have been positive. One viewer remarked, “This is one of the best ads I’ve ever seen. Totally fist-pumping.” Another added, “Insanely effective message.”

The timing of the ad comes after Pratt’s enthusiastic remarks about a previous spot that showcased Bass and Raman’s luxurious home. His rising popularity has been evident following a recent mayoral debate that many perceived as a significant win for him. Political analysts, some from the left, are now recognizing Pratt as a serious contender in the election.
