WNBA All-Star Weekend Excitement Amid Clark’s Injury

Kate Clark chose not to let her recent groin injury dampen the kickoff of the WNBA All-Star Festival on Thursday night.

The Fever star was seen in various social media clips enjoying a lively party in Indianapolis last weekend. The event was streamed by “Studzbudz,” a popular Twitch channel hosted by Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman.

Veteran WNBA players and Lynx teammates shared that they would be celebrating all weekend long.

In one amusing moment captured on video, Clark asked Williams and Hiedeman if they had “slept” with the camera rolling, to which they both responded enthusiastically.

Williams confirmed with a nod, seemingly surprised at the question.

Williams then jokingly yelled out near the camera.

Clark heard Williams mention she watched a “three hours at home” stream before arriving on Thursday, prompting a curious “Daas?” from Williams.

“That’s it. That’s all for today,” Clark said, feeling satisfied about what she had seen.

Amid all the excitement, Clark also expressed anticipation for her camp.

Her former Iowa teammate, Kate Martin, made an appearance on the stream, as did her Fever teammate, Aliya Boston. Someone even managed to sneak a clip of Clark’s drink in a moment that was less captured by the camera.

Two former Iowa teammates took a photo with Williams and Hiedeman, and Clark reassured them that her aunt is quite a fan of the show.

Clark’s brother, Colin, also joined the live stream, taking the opportunity to introduce himself and share some candid thoughts about the league.

Later, Clark was spotted enjoying herself at the DJ booth during a Mario concert, singing and dancing while having a drink in hand.

This marked her second time participating in the All-Star weekend.

Clark had been set to captain her first professional three-point shooting contest on Friday and lead her team in the All-Star Game alongside Liberty coach Sandi Brondello on Saturday. Unfortunately, the groin injury she sustained during a game against Connecticut disrupted those plans.

Later on Thursday, she confirmed her absence from the All-Star events, expressing sadness about not being able to compete. “I’m incredibly disappointed to announce that I have to rest my body,” Clark stated. “However, I’ll still be at Gainbridge Field House to support my team.”

This season has been challenging for Clark, who has faced several injuries and only participated in 13 of the Fever’s 24 games, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and five rebounds.

In her place, teammate Lexi Hull will compete in the shooting contest, as announced by the league on Friday.

Hull will face off against notable players, including Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum, in what promises to be an exciting contest.
