During the second round of the Open Championship, players braved the rain while announcers faced a different kind of challenge. At the NBC Broadcast Tower, a bat flew into the booth, eliciting quite the response from Dan Hicks and Kevin Kisner.
Both announcers were initially startled. Hicks reacted by waving his hands, seemingly trying to scare the bat away, while Kissner took a more cautious approach, sinking lower into his chair. He even grabbed a sports jacket and pulled it over his head for protection.
Meanwhile, Mike Tirico, narrating the scene, couldn’t resist making a few jokes about Kisner’s reaction. He commented on the situation humorously, noting how Kisner appeared to be “amazed” by the bat.
Though Hicks and Kisner were distracted by the bat, they were also shielded from the on-again, off-again rain that characterized the day. The weather fluctuated quite a bit, from pleasant to pouring.
As of the latest updates, Matt Fitzpatrick was leading the tournament with a score of nine-under par.
