New findings indicate that the Obama administration depicted Trump as a Russian agent.

In a surprising chapter of American history, it appears the outgoing president once voiced intentions to undermine his successor. Recent documents reveal that in 2016, then-President Barack Obama and his national security team were accused of politicizing information, labeling it “manufactured” to help frame Donald Trump as a Russian asset, despite knowing it was false.

National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, who made the declassified documents public, characterized the actions as a “terrible abuse of power” and likened it to an “uncomfortable plot.” The former Obama officials reportedly reviewed and investigated the situation.

Treason is a serious accusation, anchored in stringent legal standards, and it’s an often inflammatory term. Other serious offenses come closer to the point, like conspiracy to mislead the government or depriving rights under the color of law. This includes using falsified evidence against Trump, obstructing the fundamental functions of government, including elections.

Interestingly, the roots of this situation trace back to Hillary Clinton. Reports suggest she approved a questionable scheme on July 26, 2016, aimed at discrediting political opponents for supposedly colluding with Russia, all to deflect attention from her own email scandal. Her campaign funded dubious documents filled with inaccuracies.

The CIA promptly informed the Obama administration about Clinton’s activities. During meetings on July 28 and August 3, 2016, then-CIA Director John Brennan briefed Obama and other senior officials, including FBI Director James Comey and National Intelligence Director James Clapper.

Handwritten notes from Brennan indicated acknowledgment of Clinton’s strategies, but this information remained confidential. It was a fabricated narrative, one that those involved seemed unwilling to disclose to Congress or the public.

Instead, they initiated further investigations into Trump, branded “Crossfire Hurricane,” leveraging their authority to pursue Trump aggressively. Eventually, the story of a fabricated conspiracy reached the media known for reporting anti-Trump sentiments.

The FBI uncovered related documents and dismissed Christopher Steele for deceitful practices. Steele, a former British spy, acted as a paid informant for the FBI, which led to a surveillance warrant against Trump campaign associate Carter Page—yet no evidence of wrongdoing was ever found.

When accusations of Russian interference didn’t obstruct Trump’s path to the presidency, the narrative shifted to a Clinton-inspired scheme. A new document from Gabbard highlighted that a Daily Briefing on December 8, 2016, concluded that “Russia and criminals did not affect recent U.S. election outcomes.” However, this finding conflicted with the narrative surrounding Trump.

The following day, Obama met with select Cabinet members, directing a new Intelligence Community Assessment to reinforce the narrative of Russian interference to help Trump win, regardless of its veracity.

Brennan and Comey acknowledged the ICA comprised discredited documents. The urgency seemed driven by a desire to present Trump’s presidency under a false light before he even took office. On January 6, 2017, Comey visited Trump Tower, armed with an ICA alleging Russian interference, which Trump dismissed as preposterous.

As time went on, this narrative only grew. Those involved in investigations against Trump seemed to escalate their efforts, with certain officials leaking information to the media, influencing public opinion against the president without substantiated proof.

When Comey was ultimately dismissed, he allegedly destroyed FBI documents on his exit and leaked sensitive information, leading to the appointment of Robert Mueller, who was also his former colleague, as a special advisor. However, Mueller and his team found no evidence of criminal conspiracy.

Past discussions about these events suggest a coordinated effort to frame Trump, and the situation only continued from there. Reports indicate heightened scrutiny of Brennan and Comey, but the blame shouldn’t rest solely on them—Obama and Clinton are implicated as well.

From a conspiracy that began in 2016, it appears Trump has been a victim of ongoing efforts to undermine his presidency, culminating in a broader cover-up related to the Biden administration. There’s talk of a significant collaborative effort potentially affecting the presidential elections of 2016, 2020, and the upcoming 2024 election.

Using legal maneuvers could extend statutes of limitations related to recent actions, including high-profile incidents like the Mar-a-Lago raid. Furthermore, these measures could allow prosecutions in venues less influenced by political biases.

The need for more declassified evidence is pressing—some has been hidden for almost a decade within various intelligence agencies. Regardless, there’s no denying the extent of authority abuses for political ends by top officials. Their motivations seemingly aligned more with personal vendettas than with upholding constitutional values.

In the end, the only way to counter lies is with the truth, and the remedy to lawlessness is justice. The trajectory toward doing what’s right hinges on upholding these principles.
