Yankees player has a dispute with Braves' third base coach

Altercation Between Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Eddie Perez

During a recent game on Saturday night, New York Yankees player Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Atlanta Braves third base coach Eddie Perez exchanged heated remarks. The incident was captured on Yes Network, showing Chisholm shouting towards the Braves’ dugout while standing at third base in the top of the sixth inning. He seemed to tell Perez, “I’ll cry,” while Perez appeared to suggest that Chisholm might face repercussions next time he batted.

It seems their disagreement stemmed from Chisholm signaling to Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe during his at-bat. Standing at two bases, Chisholm was seen touching his chest, making it clear he was signaling from the base. After the game, Perez responded to reporters, claiming there were no threats involved, rather he just advised Chisholm to “think.”

Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed uncertainty about the situation, noting that the players probably understood their discussion better than anyone else did. Chisholm chose not to comment further on the matter.

In terms of gameplay, the Yankees made a remarkable comeback after trailing 7-2 at the end of the sixth. They managed to tie the game in the eighth inning, culminating with Trent Grisham hitting a go-ahead grand slam in the ninth inning, marking his 17th home run of the season. Ultimately, New York won the game 12-9.

With this victory, the Yankees improved their record to 54-44, while the Braves fell to 43-54.
