Sen. Klobuchar Discusses Future Presidential Aspirations

On Sunday’s episode of CNN’s “State of the Union,” Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) suggested that she hasn’t completely dismissed the idea of running for president in 2028.

During the discussion, host Jake Tapper mentioned his recent visit to New Hampshire for Rep. Chris Pappas’s Senate campaign, noting that with Joe Biden no longer in office, New Hampshire’s role in the primaries is back in focus.

Klobuchar responded by emphasizing the importance of future elections and her commitment to supporting strong candidates. She remarked on the presence of moderate Republicans and independents who are looking for stability and integrity, and stressed the connection voters have with the everyday issues they face, like rising grocery prices.

Tapper then inquired if it was fair to say she hasn’t ruled out a 2028 run. Klobuchar indicated that her priority remains her current Senate duties and her support of candidates nationwide, while acknowledging the ongoing economic and democratic challenges posed by figures like Donald Trump.
