Ratajkowski launched her own swimwear brand, Inamorata, back in 2017, noting that it was entirely “self-funded.” She mentioned, “I have a consultant and an assistant, but that’s about it,” emphasizing the joy of having full control over her project.
Reflecting on her experience in Hollywood, she ventured into launching her business after her breakthrough role in 2014 in “Gone Girl.” Despite the fame, Ratajkowski wanted to demonstrate that she could be recognized as a serious actress.
She has spoken candidly about her struggles, feeling that some industry people viewed her primarily in terms of her looks rather than her capabilities. Ratajkowski shared that after being in movies such as “We Are Your Friends” and “I Feel Pretty,” she stepped away from Hollywood in 2019 due to frustrations with the industry’s demands.
In early 2020, tired of catering to powerful men in the industry, she parted ways with her agents and managers. “I didn’t trust them,” she remarked, reinforcing her decision to take charge of her own path.
