Hunter Biden Critiques George Clooney and Democratic Celebrities
Hunter Biden, caught in various scandals, has fired back at actor George Clooney and other Democratic figures who have suggested that his father, Joe Biden, should withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
In a recent chat with YouTube personality Andrew Charahan, the 55-year-old Hunter expressed frustration with Clooney, 64, who was part of a July 10 New York Times op-ed calling for Democratic party members to seek a new candidate due to concerns about Biden’s age.
“Forget him and everyone around him; I don’t have to take orders from him,” Hunter remarked in reference to the “Good Night and Good Luck” actor.
He further added, “Honestly, I think Quentin Tarantino is right—George Clooney isn’t just an actor. He’s more of a brand now.” And he continued, directing his ire towards former President Barack Obama, questioning why he should heed their opinions.
Clooney was involved in a Hollywood fundraiser for Biden’s reelection campaign on June 15, 2024. However, during the event, Biden appeared to struggle with recognition, despite having known Clooney for over two decades, as noted in Tapper and Thompson’s book, “Original Sin.”
Hunter recollected that Clooney was initially reluctant to attend the fundraiser, expressing frustration over the president’s criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Amal Clooney, George’s wife and a human rights lawyer, was among experts advocating for war crimes charges against Netanyahu in relation to Gaza.
In a dramatic turn, Clooney reportedly sent a message threatening to embarrass the president and withdraw from the fundraiser due to his discontent.
According to Tapper and Thompson, Biden needed help recognizing Clooney when introduced, and his response upon finally realizing was rather cheerful.
On the anniversary of Joe Biden’s presidency, Hunter argued that Clooney was creating unnecessary drama, emphasizing that it’s standard protocol for aides to properly identify notable guests.
Additionally, Hunter accused Clooney of being “backed” by the Obama administration to undermine his father, criticizing several political figures along the way.
“James Carville, who hasn’t had any real success since working with Obama, and David Axelrod—who has spent years profiting off of their connections—are all part of that crowd,” he stated.
Representatives for Clooney did not immediately respond to inquiries for comment.
