Florida Man Charged with Murdering Wife
A man in Florida has been accused of violently killing his wife in their home in the Florida Keys early Thursday morning, according to reports.
Bradley Shadduck, 56, faces a second-degree murder charge following the discovery of his wife, Lynn Alan Shadduck, who was found naked, bloodied, and unconscious in their home. She had injuries to her face, hands, and head.
Authorities were called to the distressing scene just before 6 a.m. on Thursday. Bradley, who was wrapped in a towel and otherwise naked, had asked a neighbor to call 911 because he was “bleeding everywhere,” as stated by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
“Call 911, there’s blood all over the house, there’s blood everywhere,” he told the neighbor.
The police reported the home was in disarray, with blood stains present in multiple areas. There were many broken items scattered around, and a large pool of blood was noted in the center of the living room.
During police questioning, Bradley provided little information, stating, “this just happened,” but insisted that “my wife needed help.”
When emergency responders arrived, Lynn, 62, was unconscious but still breathing. She was transported to a hospital on Stock Island, where she was later pronounced dead.
Bradley mentioned to the police that they had “eaten and drank a lot” the previous night at a local restaurant, attributing the mess in the house to “rough sex.” However, Deputy Paul McNally noted in the arrest report that Bradley claimed to have blacked out and couldn’t recall anything that happened.
The search of their home revealed bloodstains throughout, including on towels and in the master bedroom and bathroom. The report indicated that there had been a significant struggle over Lynn, yet Bradley appeared unharmed afterward.
Lynn was described in her online obituary as a “dedicated nurse” who had a loving spirit. It noted her commitment to caring for others, stating her career was not just a job but a true calling.
She is survived by three daughters, two stepchildren, and nine grandchildren.
It’s not clear if Bradley is the father of any of the children.
Bradley is currently being held at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in Key West without bail and is expected to be arraigned next Friday. An official from the sheriff’s office was unable to provide additional details about the case as of Saturday.
