Pete Davidson speaks out about becoming a father

Pete Davidson is sharing his happiness about becoming a father shortly after his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, made the announcement that she is expecting their first child.

At the New York premiere of “The Home,” Davidson expressed his feelings, saying, “I’m very lucky, very, very happy,” as reported by E! News.

He added, “I’m looking forward to being able to take care of something and show my childhood I don’t have.” It’s a heartfelt sentiment, especially considering his father’s passing during the 9/11 attacks. Davidson mentioned he feels supported by friends, including Adam Sandler.

“Everyone is really excited for me because they know it’s my dream,” the 31-year-old comedian remarked. He shared that his friends told him, “You’re going to be great at this; that’s the best thing you’ve ever done in your life.” Sandler offered him some valuable advice along the way.

It’s clear Davidson appreciates the enthusiasm around this new chapter. “When you do something, when we do something, you want everyone to be excited, especially having kids,” he said.

Hewitt, 29, announced her pregnancy on Instagram last Wednesday, sharing a video along with pictures from an ultrasound appointment. In one of the photos, Davidson is seen smiling, holding his belly while embracing Hewitt.

Hewitt humorously captioned her post, “Now everyone knows we’re having sex.” The couple’s relationship came to light in March.

Davidson has previously referred to fatherhood as a “dream” he always wanted. “Definitely a family man at heart,” he expressed back in 2022, sharing how he longs to have kids. He mentioned wanting the experience to develop naturally so that when it happens, it’s easier.

He noted that his family is thrilled about this news and that there’s plenty of support as they embark on this journey together.
