T.D. Jakes Refutes Connections to Diddy Controversy, Claims '44,000 AI Bots Targeted Me'

TD Jakes Addresses Misinformation Regarding Sean Combs

TD Jakes, the founder of the Potter’s House, has claimed that misleading information about his links to rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been fueled by a network of 44,000 AI bots spreading rumors on social media. In a recent podcast episode, he shared, “It was 44,000 bots that were released to me,” while speaking with John Hope Bryant.

Over the past year, Jakes has faced multiple legal issues. Notably, in 2024 he was mentioned in a lawsuit linked to Combs, connecting the two through allegations related to Combs’ “freak-off” party. Currently, Combs is awaiting a ruling after a mixed verdict in his sex trafficking case.

In an additional lawsuit, Jakes accused Duane Youngblood of sexual assault, describing Youngblood’s actions as “frightening.” Such experiences have understandably caused Jakes stress, especially after a medical emergency he experienced during a Sunday service last November.

Interestingly, Jakes had previously collaborated with Combs back in 2021 to share his sermon on Combs’ cable network.

During the podcast, Jakes described the ongoing rumors as “a little water under the bridge.” He also expressed concerns over his health, suggesting that “You’ll find it on the six o’clock news.”

Addressing the need for accurate information, he urged people to be cautious of sources like TikTok, stating that unfounded rumors can severely damage one’s reputation. He reflected on the painful impact such rumors can have, especially regarding family.

“I’ll survive everything,” he remarked, despite the difficulties and pain that come with public scrutiny. “You can’t be distracted by the deniers and lose sight of the vision and purpose of what you are trying to build.”

In a recent Instagram post, Bryant referenced the podcast, mentioning that Jakes had stepped down from the role of senior pastor of a daughter church, passing the baton to his daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts and her husband, Toure Roberts.

Looking ahead, Jakes expressed his desire to focus on building a mixed-income community through a ten-year partnership with Wells Fargo. He’s also set to launch a network and a podcast titled “My Next Chapter,” aimed at fostering collaboration and learning among people.

“There are not enough groups of people to run this planet,” Jakes noted. He wants to leverage his platform to bring together insightful individuals so that they can learn and pass on valuable lessons to future generations.
