Family seeks legal representation following man's death in MRI incident while wearing necklace

The family of a man who tragically died in a rare MRI-related incident in New York last week is reportedly preparing to take legal action. Keith McAllister, aged 61, passed away after experiencing three heart attacks when he was pulled into the magnetic field of an MRI machine at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury. At the time, he was wearing a heavy 20-pound chain.

His family is now hiring a lawyer to “ensure accountability” regarding the situation.

The family has enlisted attorney Michael Lauterborn to assist with the legal process. Lauterborn noted that this devastating incident highlights the vital need for safety protocols in medical imaging settings. He emphasized that both the family and the legal team are committed to making sure proper investigations are carried out to prevent future tragedies.

Adrienne Jones-Mcallister, McAllister’s widow, was undergoing a knee scan when the mishap occurred.

According to their daughter, Samantha Bodden, the MRI technician left the room to locate McAllister but failed to warn them about the risks associated with wearing metal near the machine. Contradicting previous reports that suggested McAllister entered the room uninvited, Bodden clarified that he had actually been escorted in by the technician.

Bodden shared that both she and her mother attempted to free McAllister from the MRI machine and later sought assistance from the police. Meanwhile, Fox News Digital has reached out to the relevant parties for further comments.
