Hulk Hogan Passes Away at 71
Renowned professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, born Terry Borea, passed away at 71. He was pronounced dead at his Clearwater, Florida home after paramedics responded early Thursday morning.
Reports indicated a significant presence of police and emergency medical teams outside his residence. Sources say he was transported on a stretcher, and sadly, it was confirmed that he experienced cardiac arrest.
The WWE expressed their condolences in a statement, noting that Hogan was a pivotal figure in elevating the WWE’s global recognition during the 1980s. They extended their sympathies to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.
Earlier, there were claims about Hogan’s health, suggesting he was near death. However, those close to him mentioned that he was recovering from symptoms related to a neck procedure he underwent in May. His wife, Skye, dismissed rumors about him being in a coma, stating his heart was strong after surgery.
Hogan’s wrestling journey began in the mid-1970s, eventually achieving legendary status within the WWF. He made his film debut in 1982 with “Rocky III” and starred in various movies during the 1990s, like “Suburban Commando” and “Mr. Nanny.” He also became a part of the notable wrestling faction nWo while working with WCW, which has since been discontinued.
In recent years, Hogan was known for his support of Donald Trump, appearing at the 2024 Republican National Convention last July, where he notably revealed a “Trump Vance 2024” t-shirt.
Fans reacted to the news of Hogan’s passing with a mix of sorrow and nostalgia for the world of wrestling he helped shape. Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged him on social media, referring to him as a “Legend.” Others shared their emotional responses, remembering Hogan as a “True American Patriot” and including him in their personal childhood memories.
Hogan is survived by his daughter, Brooke, a 37-year-old singer, and his son, Nick, who is 34 and known for his reality TV appearances.
