Taylor Swift recently found herself in the spotlight thanks to some comments from Dennis Welch, the mother of her former boyfriend Matty Healy.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Welch targeted Swift, the talented Grammy-winning artist, when asked about her upcoming album, *The Tortured Poets Department*. It seems there might be some references to their past relationship in the lyrics.
Welch didn’t hold back, saying, “I can discuss the painful themes, but I’m glad I’m not her stepmother.” This comment hinted at the complexities surrounding her son’s former relationship with Swift.
When pressed for more details, Welch noted, “Honestly, it’s tricky.” She paused, seemingly searching for the right words, before continuing, “You can’t say much, and she writes an entire album about it.” This remark certainly highlighted the intensity of celebrity relationships.
Welch also mentioned how Healy, the frontman of The 1975, has been coping with the impact of Swift’s recent work. He’s now quite happy with his new fiancée, Gabbriette Bechtel.
<p“I’m glad I’m not her stepmother,” Welch reiterated, reflecting on the situation. “He’s pleased with his gorgeous fiancée.”
The couple, Healy and Swift, had a brief yet whirlwind romance, frequenting events together, and even attending some of Swift’s sold-out concerts during her era tour. Their time together had been marked by visible chemistry, but insiders later revealed that their relationship suffered from scheduling conflicts and differing priorities.
Following their split, Swift released *TTPD*, which raised speculation about its tracks referencing their relationship. Some rumored titles included “Guilty As Sin” and “I Can’t Fix Him.”
In a twist, Swift has since sparked a romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, while Healy recently proposed to Bechtel, adding another layer to this evolving story.
