Democrat X Account’s Misstep
Late Thursday, the official Democrat X account stumbled significantly by revealing too much about the current state of the nation during President Biden’s administration.
Right after dinner, they aimed for a typical jab at former President Trump. However, their attempt quickly backfired.
In the post, which poked fun at “Trump’s America,” they shared an image suggesting that grocery prices in the U.S. would reach unprecedented levels by 2025. The graph highlighted price increases for various staples—including cheese, alcohol, groceries, dairy, produce, and meat—compared to July 2024.
The post’s wording was confusing, and the graph illustrated a stark price surge starting in 2021, eventually peaking around 2024. It didn’t take long for readers to notice the inconvenient reality—that the Democrats were unintentionally emphasizing the significant price hikes that had occurred under Biden.
President Trump’s rapid response team acted quickly, pointing out that most prices had actually declined during his presidency.
Although the Democrats soon deleted the post, an X user managed to archive it, ensuring that the embarrassing image remained public.
Fox News host Carly Simks commented, noting how, according to the data, the highest price point was indeed during Biden’s time. “They thought there was something to be proud of, but it’s quite the opposite,” she added.
Readers reacted with a mix of disbelief and humor. Some highlighted the Democrats’ misjudgment, while others expressed surprise that no one on their team had properly reviewed the graph before posting it.
While it’s true that prices can fluctuate, the cost of living in crucial areas has seen a decline recently, particularly concerning essential goods like eggs, which reportedly fell 61% since Trump’s inauguration.
Trading Economics noted that egg prices averaged $3.37 per dozen in July, a far cry from the exorbitant $8 or more experienced during the height of inflation at the end of Biden’s term.
