North Carolina Groomer Arrested for Animal Cruelty
A pet groomer in North Carolina has been arrested following disturbing allegations of animal abuse at her workplace. Kirsten Rhea Taylor, 28, was taken into custody on Thursday in Mooresville and now faces four felony animal cruelty charges.
The charges came after an employee reported observing Taylor physically abusing a dog in a grooming salon, as detailed by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were alerted to troubling footage that had been shared on social media, prompting an investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the video depicted Taylor mistreating the dog multiple times during a grooming session. Some clips allegedly show her punching the animal and harshly handling puppies, slamming them against walls.
Reportedly, four dogs belonging to a client were subjected to this aggressive treatment during their routine grooming visits. Given the severity of the accusations, the case was transferred to the sheriff’s office, which secured an arrest warrant for Taylor.
In a statement, Sheriff Darren Campbell highlighted the importance of coordinated responses to animal cruelty issues. He expressed a commitment to taking such allegations seriously and ensuring that offenders are held accountable.
Following these revelations, the owner of the grooming salon has confirmed that Taylor is no longer employed there. Taylor’s bail is currently set at $10,000.
