A fire broke out at Conor McGregor’s Black Forge Inn in Dublin early Friday, leading police to pursue a suspected arsonist.
According to reports, investigators are looking into the incident that happened in Krumlin, a Dublin suburb.
“A small fire ignited at the entrance and was quickly contained,” a source mentioned. “One person was seen fleeing the area afterward. Fortunately, it was empty at the time, and no injuries occurred.”
Dublin firefighters responded to the situation, and by Friday morning, repair work was underway in front of the pub.
Authorities are reviewing security footage from nearby to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the fire. The incident is categorized as criminal damage.
Local residents expressed little surprise about the disturbance. One individual noted, “People in the nearby houses were awakened by sirens and fire engines. The flames were extinguished quickly, and the police checked the pub first. McGregor isn’t exactly beloved around here, so it’s difficult to guess who might be behind this.”
McGregor, who purchased the pub for around $2 million in 2020, is aware of the situation and announced on Instagram that the bar remains open.
In his post, he expressed, “Invincible!” and reassured followers that the establishment is “Always Open #Unbeatable Hospitality for Business.” He also added a cheerful, “Happy Friday, Freaks!”
Previously, the bar faced suspected gasoline bomb attacks in 2022, but fortunately, those devices did not detonate. Following that incident, McGregor installed bulletproof windows, as the pub is a common spot for him, his family, and celebrity friends.
