South Carolina Dance Teacher Arrested
A dance teacher in South Carolina has been arrested following complaints from parents about her behavior during dance classes. The investigation began when some parents expressed their concerns regarding the routines taught to their children.
Andrea Mizell, 45, faces serious allegations including providing alcohol to students, engaging in inappropriate discussions, and showing explicit photos of herself. Additionally, she has been accused of inappropriately touching students during lessons. Court documents indicate that she has been charged with four counts of second-degree assault and battery, as well as contributing to the delinquency of minors.
The police investigation kicked off on March 12 when officers were alerted to discussions happening at the dance school. Parents voiced skepticism about the content of the dance routines. During one particular meeting, Mizell reportedly became evasive, leaving her car unexpectedly after engaging with several parents.
As officers interviewed the students, it came to light that Mizell had allegedly given them alcohol and had a vulgar conversation with them. Shockingly, she also invited some students to her apartment, where she offered margaritas while watching a movie. Reports include instances of her discussing her personal life inappropriately with the students.
According to statements from students, Mizell allegedly touched them inappropriately during practice and changed clothes in front of them, often revealing too much. One student claims this happened multiple times, with actions described as “not getting in the way” of touching.
The community is understandably disturbed by these revelations, as they raise serious concerns about safety and appropriateness in educational settings. Further investigations may shed more light on the situation, but for now, the allegations have shocked many.
