Gabbard criticizes media's lack of coverage on the revealed Trump-Russia hoax report

National Intelligence Director Tarshi Gabbard has taken aim at liberal media for overlooking declassified reports suggesting that former President Barack Obama and his administration “manufactured” intelligence to justify their investigation into Trump-Russia ties. Last Friday, Gabbard released what’s been termed the Obama administration’s Russian “hoos” report, indicating “overwhelming evidence” that Obama and his national security team laid the groundwork for the long-running investigation following Trump’s 2016 election victory over Hillary Clinton.

This week, Gabbard remarked that it’s “interesting” how mainstream media seems to ignore this significant story, calling their silence “deafening.” On “Fox & Friends,” she noted that when they do cover it, the reports are often disconnected from the actual revelations meant for American viewers.

She pointed out, “They mostly just express criticism, whether about the reports or Democratic politicians, but they aren’t engaging with the truths coming out.” Gabbard speculated on two reasons media outlets avoid discussing the findings revealed in the report. The first reason, she suggested, is that “the American people don’t want to know the truth.” The second may lie in the acknowledgment of the media’s complicity in the early narrative formed from the manufactured intelligence assessment crafted by Obama officials, including John Brennan and James Clapper, without proper vetting.

In Gabbard’s view, the current media silence echoes past situations, such as the erroneous intelligence reports regarding Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, which were similarly used to garner public support for military action in the Middle East. She questioned how many journalists have admitted their previous errors, saying that rather than sincere acknowledgment, many simply made excuses.

Gabbard characterized Obama’s efforts concerning the Russia narrative as an attempt to “overturn” the will of the American people. In response to the unfolding controversy, Obama issued a rare statement recently, dismissing allegations from the Trump administration related to the declassified reports as “outrageous.” His spokesman, Patrick Rodenbush, described these claims as “weak attempts at distraction,” emphasizing that previous bipartisan investigations had found that while Russia sought to influence the 2016 election, they failed to manipulate votes.

Gabbard assessed Obama’s response, suggesting it was deliberately vague and avoided addressing the truths that have now emerged.
