A shocking video has surfaced showing a courageous Walmart shopper with a firearm confronting a man wielding a knife, just moments after he allegedly stabbed 11 individuals inside a Michigan store on Saturday night.
The intense mobile phone footage, shared on X, reveals the brave individual shouting at the assailant to drop the weapon in the parking lot of a superstore located in Traverse City, approximately 255 miles northwest of Detroit.
The unidentified shopper has received considerable praise for his quick actions.
“This guy deserves all the credit,” remarked one viewer. “An armed good Samaritan saved lives.”
In the edge-of-your-seat video, the good Samaritan yells at the attacker while brandishing a small handgun.
“Drop it! Toss the knife now!” he commands.
Several other men nearby aid in pushing a Walmart shopping cart, effectively forcing the attacker to the ground.
The camera then shifts towards the entrance of Walmart, revealing one of the victims lying injured on the ground.
Other patrons rally around the attacker, ordering him to remain on the ground as the footage concludes.
On Sunday, law enforcement identified the suspect as 42-year-old Bradford James Gill.
He faces charges of terrorism with intent to murder, along with 11 counts of assault, following the horrifying stabbing incident in Traverse City, a well-known tourist spot.
The victims varied in age from 29 to 85, with six of them being over 60. Fortunately, all are expected to survive, according to reports.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michaelcia indicated that Gill has a criminal record, including drug offenses and vandalism.
The chaos erupted at the store shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, as the assailant launched an indiscriminate attack on shoppers.
While six individuals remained in serious condition, an update from Munson Medical Center noted that by Sunday, five were in serious condition and seven were in fair condition.
Witnesses recounted how they were shopping at Walmart with their fiancé when the attack unfolded. One customer reportedly managed to eject the suspect from the store and held him until first responders arrived.
“It was extremely alarming and frightening. I’ve never witnessed anything like that, and I’ve lived in Traverse City my entire life,” Angela Helfrich shared.
“I was too close for comfort. It could have easily been me and my family. I feel terrible for the victims and their families.”
Traverse City Director Pete Battigigue expressed his distress over the “utterly senseless violence” at Walmart that day.
