While “Sex and the City” might be over, the character Lexi Featherston will certainly remain memorable.
Kristen Johnston recently made a bold statement, saying that Lexi was “bodied enough to die.” In a conversation with Page 6, she shared that her gravestone might read, “New York is over,” as she promotes her upcoming Netflix show, ‘Leanne.’
“If that’s my legacy, I’m totally fine with that,” she added, expressing a fondness for her role as Featherston.
Johnston portrayed Featherston in the episode titled “Splat” from the sixth season. In it, she reconnects with Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, at a party hosted by Chichi.
During the party, Featherston complains about the changing nightlife in New York, lamenting the lack of excitement. “When did everyone stop smoking? When did everyone pair up?” she questions. “This was the most exciting city in the world… Soon, no one will have any fun anymore. What happened to looking forward to things?”
In a comedic turn, Featherston twists her ankle and tumbles through a window while trying to grab the curtains.
Kristen Johnston is set to appear in “Leanne,” alongside comedian Leanne Morgan. In this show, she portrays a character who indulges in drinks without saying no. However, it’s worth noting that Johnston herself has been sober for many years.
She has openly discussed her struggles with addiction in her memoir, “Guts: The Infinite Fools and Small Wins of a Massive Disaster,” revealing how her issues began during high school, with nights involving two bottles of wine.
Johnston has mentioned that she chose to write her memoir with brutal honesty, hoping to create something relatable for others in rehab. “I wanted to write a book I thought I could read during my rehab,” she explained. “It just ended up coming out that way.”
“Leanne” is set to start streaming on July 31.
