Schaffer had a long career with the network, beginning his journey in 2000 with the Fox News Channel’s Los Angeles station after working as a newspaper reporter in California. He later joined the Seattle team in 2002.
Throughout his 25 years at Fox News, Schaffer traveled extensively. He covered significant events, including conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, and Lebanon. Notably, during the Iraq War, he spent time at Kabul and Bagram Air Bases while frequently rotating in Baghdad. Schaffer also reported on key stories related to Boeing, focusing on issues like lithium-ion batteries and the grounding of the 737 Max 8. His work often took him to Alaska where he addressed various environmental and regulatory challenges.
His contributions were especially significant during multiple election cycles, showcasing his versatility as a producer.
