CIA Director John Ratcliffe is now weighing in, backing National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard’s assertion that the roots of Russiagate may be traced back to the Intelligence Bureau’s clergy and former President Barack Obama. It’s alleged that President Obama instructed officials like James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper to draw stronger conclusions regarding Russia’s influence in the 2016 election, despite being aware that there was no actual hacking involved.
Ratcliffe has also suggested that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton played a role in this situation.
“What hasn’t been fully revealed yet is the crucial intelligence I’ve been advocating for declassification recently. The final steps in declassifying it are linked to findings from John Durham’s report,” Ratcliffe told Fox News. “What this intelligence indicates is that a portion of it was part of a plan involving Hillary Clinton and, interestingly, also intertwined with the FBI’s efforts to fuel the false narrative associated with Steel Dejar.”
In a later part of the interview, Ratcliffe expressed doubt that the applicable restrictions would be relevant, indicating he would leave the ultimate decision to Attorney General Pam Bondy and the Department of Justice.
To clarify, the report detailing Hillary Clinton’s role is still in progress. Ratcliffe mentioned that what he has seen so far resembles a teaser, hinting at more revelations to come.
This discussion ties into the ongoing examination of Russian interference, especially amidst the significant efforts from Gabbard and the Trump administration. It has become evident that major claims from mainstream media about Russian misconduct and its ties to the Trump campaign were exaggerated, often upon requests from various intelligence officials. Clinton, in particular, seems even more entrenched in the belief that Russian interference undermined Trump’s 2016 victory.
She has consistently labeled him as an illegitimate president. Even years after the collapse of the central claims surrounding Russiagate by 2020, Clinton has continued making such assertions.
“One of the fears Trump harbored about becoming president is that his victory was ultimately illegal and that he sought foreign assistance to achieve it,” she remarked.
Clinton undoubtedly remains a frustrated figure regarding the 2016 outcome, perhaps feeling entitled to voice that she believes she won. While that may not be accurate, she is entitled to her opinion. However, the American public deserves transparency concerning whether misleading and dubious intelligence regarding Russia, which painted Trump’s campaign negatively, was instigated by her own team.
If Ratcliffe has substantial evidence, I’m eager to see it.
