Double Homicide Investigation in Arkansas

On Tuesday, Arkansas Troopers announced that the suspect in the killing of a married couple during a hike at Devil’s Den State Park over the weekend may have sustained injuries during the attack.

The Arkansas State Police have identified the deceased as Clinton David Brink, 43, and his wife Kristen Amanda Brink, 41, both of whom were on the trail with their young daughters, aged 7 and 9. Investigators suspect that the assailant was likely injured while assaulting the couple.

In a statement issued through state police, the Brink family expressed their grief, saying, “Clinton and Kristan protected their little girl; they deserve justice.” This tragic incident has sparked a big response from law enforcement.

On Monday evening, detectives released a composite sketch of a medium-built white man wearing rounded long sleeves, dark shorts, fingerless gloves, sunglasses, and a dark baseball cap. Witnesses reported seeing him driving away from the park in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate obscured by tape.

Rescuers discovered the bodies of the Brinks along the lower section of the 1.5-mile loop trail, which had been closed indefinitely during the search due to ongoing investigation efforts.

The FBI’s Little Rock office is now involved in the case, with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders describing the murders as “terrifying” and assuring the public that law enforcement agencies will not rest until the suspect is brought to justice.

Authorities have received numerous tips but have chosen not to disclose potential evidence online to avoid hindering the investigation. Nick Genty, a spokesperson for the state police, urged anyone who might have video, photos, or information related to the incident to come forward.

Individuals who were hiking at Devil’s Den on Saturday or who live along highways 170 and 220 with security camera footage are encouraged to reach out to investigators.
