Gutfeld Criticizes Police Chief for Leaving Out an Important Detail About Cincinnati Street Fight

Police Chief’s Comments Spark Controversy

Greg Gutfeld from Fox News engaged in a heated exchange with Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge, which has caught the attention of many online. This discussion arose after Theetge suggested that a video of a street brawl didn’t capture the full picture of what really happened.

Footage of the fight on Elm and Force Streets circulated online, leading to five individuals being charged related to the incident. While addressing Theetge’s remarks on “Five,” Gutfeld highlighted what he saw as a double standard in how context is discussed, saying it seemed to matter only in one direction.

“I thought New York was a place where anything goes. Someone can just walk up, hit someone, and be out in an hour,” she pointed out. Gutfeld responded with frustration, questioning the lack of context in the conversation. “If you claim the video doesn’t show the whole story, then tell us what does,” he insisted. “You can’t just lament over social media’s impact and not explain further.”

At a press conference on Monday, Theetge mentioned that police were on the scene six minutes after the initial 911 call came in at around 3:06 AM. She criticized both social media and mainstream reporters, asserting that their narratives complicated the handling of the case and could mislead the public.

Theetge asserted that online commentary about the incident “twists what actually occurred and hinders our efforts.” Meanwhile, Gutfeld referenced the case of Daniel Penny, who faces manslaughter charges after placing someone in a chokehold on a subway for displaying erratic behavior.

“When it came to the Covington students, no one bothered discussing the broader context. Instead, Daniel Penny was treated as if he was a murderer without considering that he acted heroically. The same goes for George Floyd. So, what’s the context here?” Gutfeld asked.

“I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough,” he added. “Some people build context, like on October 7th, analyzing hours of footage in light of ongoing Middle Eastern political turmoil—it’s all exhausting!”

The footage depicts a large altercation on the streets of Cincinnati, where several individuals are seen kicking and stomping a man who later appears to be knocked unconscious. Though five people have been charged so far, Theetge anticipates that more charges might follow, given that about 100 witnesses were present during the incident.
