Two men were prohibited from flying with a British airline after being escorted off a plane by police due to their alleged drunken behavior. This incident took place on July 24, during a flight from Leeds Bradford Airport in England to Crete, Greece.
According to Ian Boyle, one of the passengers, their flight was delayed. He mentioned, “Apparently, my two friends had a bottle of vodka with them and thought it would be fine to drink while we were late.” He noted that one of the men was “very drunk and he can’t control it.”
Video footage showed police officers escorting the two men down the runway after the situation escalated. Boyle remarked, “The airline staff were trying their best, but the drunken guy overwhelmed them.” West Yorkshire police confirmed they responded to a request for assistance because of reports of obstruction.
The two men were arrested on suspicion of causing a fray but were later released on bail. In a statement, the airline expressed its zero-tolerance policy toward disruptive passenger behavior, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining a family-friendly environment.
Interestingly, this isn’t an isolated incident. Just recently, a Southwest Airlines plane faced a delay in New Orleans when a passenger caused a disruption after departure. Sometimes, you can’t help but wonder what leads some people to act out in such ways, right?
Jet2 and West Yorkshire police did not respond immediately to requests for additional comments on the situation.
