Ireland’s Marian Price is suing Disney over her depiction in a series set in 1970s Belfast, amid significant conflict between Ulster Protestants and Catholics during that time.
The show, I Won’t Say Anything, centers around the disappearance and murder of Jean McConville, a mother of ten who went missing in 1972. This true story follows her children’s search for her and the discovery of her grave, a case that came to light when Patrick Leden Keeff uncovered details surrounding her murder in 2018.

McConville vanished during an era marked by violent conflict and terrorism. She was believed to be a British informant by a member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) and was ultimately accused and killed. Her remains were found in 2003, leading investigations to clear her name of the accusations that condemned her to a grave without a marker.
Disney’s series portrays McConville’s abduction and murder, featuring many real-life figures associated with the case, including Price, who was involved with the IRA and knew McConville. In a particularly contentious moment, the show depicts Price as shooting McConville in the back of the head.
With the series finale now released, Price, who is referred to as Marian McGlichan in the series, is taking legal action against Disney and those involved in the production.
Price asserts that she had no part in the murder of McConville and claims that there is no proof linking her to the event. She’s seeking compensation for the damage to her reputation and wants a scene featuring the alleged murder of ten other women, which was not included in the show.
The series has received critical acclaim, even earning an Emmy nomination for “Exceptional Writing for Limited or Anthology Series or Films,” despite Price expressing a desire for compensation related to her portrayal.
Premiering in late 2024, the series features actors Laura Perrishew, Emily Healy, Anthony Boyle, and Hazel Dope.
