Charlamagne Tha God on Kamala Harris’ Political Future

Radio host Charlamagne Tha God stated on Thursday that former Vice President Kamala Harris may have concluded her time in electoral politics, although she could still play a significant role in the Democratic Party.

This week, Harris garnered attention by announcing that she wouldn’t be running for governor in 2026. In her statement regarding this decision, she mentioned, “At this time, my leadership and public services are not listed in the elected offices.”

She expressed her intention to engage with the American public and support Democrats nationwide who are committed to progressive ideals, noting her plans to share her own agenda in the coming months.

Morgyn Wood, co-host of the “Breakfast Club,” pointed out that speculation is ongoing about who might run for the presidency in 2028. She asked Charlamagne if the Democratic Party might need “new blood” instead.

Charlamagne Critiques Obama’s Advice

While agreeing that Harris shouldn’t run again in 2028, Charlamagne added, “I think Kamala can definitely become a Democratic leader.” He suggested a shift in approach for Harris—focusing on cultural connections rather than solely on political campaigning.

Charlamagne argued that much of Harris’ previous strategy revolved around seeking support through votes, but he believes there’s potential for her to be seen more as a relatable cultural figure.

When another co-host mentioned the possibility of Harris entering the 2024 race, Charlamagne felt that her chances and the current Democratic landscape seem rather set in stone.

“I don’t know if she should run again, but I want to see her write a book,” he remarked. “I definitely know that she’s starting a podcast, which could help her build a genuine connection with people.” He added, “As for 2028, who knows? I think Democrats are really struggling. I don’t know—just don’t know.”

Recently, Harris announced she plans to release a book detailing her experiences over 107 days of her presidential campaign.
