According to Amy Odell, the biographer of Gwyneth Paltrow, the actress has been in competition with her close friends for tickets to her film premieres.
Odell shared insights during an interview with Page Six Radio, discussing how Paltrow usually receives four tickets for these events, though she has five close friends in her circle.
“When she’s promoting a film, she tends to have an aide ready to fly with her on a private plane,” Odell noted, as she spoke with hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy.
One of her sources mentioned that it seemed like Paltrow sometimes played her friends against each other to secure tickets.
Others have suggested that maintaining a good relationship with someone as high-profile as Paltrow can be tricky, and this isn’t just specific to her; it seems to be a common thing in Hollywood.
Odell also discussed Paltrow’s fallout with actress Winona Ryder, who apparently earned a rather unflattering nickname from the star. Paltrow, now 52, allegedly referred to Ryder as “vaginal rider,” particularly during the 1990s when Ryder gained significant attention.
Interestingly, Odell mentioned that when Paltrow was seen with actor Ben Affleck, Ryder had been involved with Matt Damon, who was close to Affleck at the time. This complicated mix of friendships and rivalries played a part in Paltrow’s strained relationship with Ryder.
At one point, it seems Ryder was in a situation involving a robbery, which Paltrow doubted, believing Ryder was perhaps trying to draw attention to herself.
Odell suggested that those who wish to remain in Paltrow’s good graces often need to prioritize their time with her, almost dropping everything else.
