He encouraged Republicans to oppose her stance, saying, “When you’re in doubt, vote for the exact opposite of Senator Susan Collins. Generally speaking, you’re not wrong. Thank you for paying attention to this issue and make America great again!”

On Friday morning, Fox News Digital reached out to Collins’ office for a response to Trump’s comments.

Recently, Collins opposed the passage of a significant legislative bill related to foreign aid, which Trump subsequently signed. Earlier this year, she also voted against confirming Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense and Kash Patel as FBI Director.

Senate Approves Trump’s Major Legislative Initiative

In February 2021, Collins voted to convict Trump following the Capitol riots, although the Senate did not achieve the required votes for conviction at that time.

Collins, serving in the Senate since 1997, has often found herself at odds with Trump and has openly declared her opposition to several of his nominees.
