Sen. Rick Scott Endorses Rep. Byron Donald for Florida Governor
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has officially endorsed Representative Byron Donald (R-FL) for the position of governor in Florida. He described Donald as “a principled conservative who has courage, confidence, and fights for all Floridians.”
In a statement, Scott expressed pride in supporting both President Trump and Donald, stating, “Byron is a principled conservative who leads with courage and conviction and fights on behalf of all Floridians.”
Scott emphasized Donald’s collaboration on crucial laws aimed at making flood insurance more accessible and aiding Floridians in recovery from hurricanes. He mentioned that during his tenure as governor, Donald was an essential ally in securing significant tax reductions for residents.
Additionally, Scott noted that Donald “strengthens our economy, advocates for seniors and veterans, protects our communities, and importantly, makes Florida more affordable for families.”
Donald, in turn, expressed gratitude to Scott for his endorsement. He acknowledged Scott as an “incredible leader” and honored to have worked alongside him in Congress. Donald expressed his eagerness to partner with Scott and President Trump to enhance Florida’s future.
Donald aims to succeed Ron DeSantis, who is unable to run again due to term limits, but has received strong backing from President Trump. According to Trump, the goal is to elevate Florida to the “next level.”
Reflecting on his vision, Donald stated, “We are blessed to live in America’s best nation,” and he aims to build on DeSantis’s accomplishments, praising the state’s leadership.
He acknowledged DeSantis’s successful governance and indicated a focus on future infrastructure and transportation needs. Donald emphasized the importance of ensuring citizens can navigate cities effectively and keeping insurance costs low.
Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of facilitating business growth in Florida, encouraging capital investment, and fostering a conducive environment for entrepreneurs.
