Even with three key players sidelined, that shouldn’t have been an excuse for how they played at Mohegan Sun Arena. On paper, New York should have had the edge over Connecticut, given the ongoing restructuring on the opposing team.

The team struggled with basic fundamentals—turnovers piled up to a season-high 23 while they also lost the battle on the boards, 42-29.

Sabrina Ionescu managed to contribute 23 points, alongside five assists and seven rebounds, but her efforts felt overshadowed by the overall lack of team cohesion.
