Jessica Simpson has candidly discussed her recent separation from Eric Johnson, surprising many as the couple ends their ten-year marriage.

The 45-year-old singer noted that this decision wasn’t something she anticipated. However, she didn’t shy away from acknowledging that both she and Johnson faced challenges in their relationship.

Finding Freedom in Nashville

Simpson shared that choosing to embrace love was essential for her. “I choose love because if I chose resentment or overwhelmed by the pain, I would fail,” she explained.

Post-split, Simpson is refocusing on her music career, which had taken a backseat for about 15 years. She recently released an EP titled “Nashville Canyon, Part 1” in March, with a follow-up expected in September.

Reflecting on her time in Nashville, she recalled, “I was really struggling, and it was an unexpected change in life. I don’t think I’ve been that confused before, but I didn’t let my confusion or heartbreak hold me back.”

Commitment to Strength

During this transition, Simpson emphasized her resolve to stay strong—not just for herself, but for their three children, Maxwell, Birdie, and Ace. “Exhale My Breath,” she mentioned, aims to highlight the journey towards blessing and compassion, not just for herself, but also for her family and Johnson.

As she navigates this new chapter, Simpson maintains an optimistic perspective. “It’s important to look on the bright side. I believe everything happens for a reason, and eventually, the truth will set you free.”

Previously, Simpson revealed that she and Johnson had been living separately, addressing the difficult realities of their marriage while prioritizing their children’s well-being. “Our kids are the priority, and we’re focused on what’s best for them,” she stated.
