Dave Edmunds Hospitalized After Cardiac Arrest
Dave Edmunds has been hospitalized following a severe cardiac arrest. His wife, Cici Edmunds, shared details about the alarming incident on July 29th, recalling how her husband “died” in her arms, only to be revived by medical professionals shortly thereafter.
“Dave Edmunds, my beloved husband of 40 years, experienced a significant cardiac arrest, as I mentioned earlier. He passed away right in my arms,” she wrote. “It’s absolutely devastating and terrifying to see him like that, lifeless on the floor, with liquid coming from his mouth and elsewhere. I tried to keep my emotions in check.” She described a nurse who was nearby, performing intense CPR on her husband.
Cici remembered how country singer Ronnie McDowell quickly rushed to the hospital amid the chaos.
Despite the nurse indicating that Dave was “missing,” Cici insisted that they wouldn’t give up, clinging to the hope that the miraculous intervention would work. “Every second counts,” she emphasized, saying there was no time for feelings in that moment.
From the hospital, Cici expressed that she was still trying to process the terrifying events. “My amazing, talented, special Dave has been bolstered by the prayers and good wishes from so many people,” she stated. “Earlier, I shared how a miracle happened when a doctor in the ICU revived him momentarily.”
However, she cautioned that Dave had sustained a brain injury and was experiencing severe memory loss. “He’s also at a high risk of suffering another cardiac arrest, and if that occurs, the chances of survival are slim,” she added.
Cici thanked everyone for their support, acknowledging the long road ahead for Dave if he makes it through. “This journey will be extremely challenging, but knowing there’s a community of caring people makes it a bit easier for us,” she said.
Throughout his career, Dave was involved in various bands but gained significant recognition in the 1960s with the rock group Love Sculpture. His first solo album, “Rockpile,” was released in the 1970s and featured a mix of covers, such as Dave Bartholomew’s “I Hear You Knocking” and Bob Dylan’s “Outlaw Blues.”
At this time, Dave’s representatives have yet to respond to inquiries about his condition.
