Long Island Murder Suspect Evades Police

Suffolk County Police are seeking assistance in locating a murder suspect who has baffled them for over a year. The individual, Marjorie Quarry, also known as Nicola Watson, is wanted for allegedly stabbing 36-year-old Conrad Gowan, a home health aide, in her home in Jamesport last year.

Authorities reported on Facebook that Quarry has been able to avoid capture, possibly due to her ability to alter her appearance frequently. “Subjects are known to frequently change their looks, including using wigs,” the police statement noted. A second-degree murder warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Gowan’s tragic death occurred at the North Fork Nursery shortly before midnight on March 4, 2024. Reports indicate that he was found with a “sharp force injury” and was rushed to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

While the motive for the attack remains unclear, the incident has left the community shaken. “It’s really sad,” said Tom Williams, a local resident. “I hate seeing someone get killed.”

Interestingly, some community members seem fascinated by how the suspect employs disguises to elude law enforcement. One neighbor remarked, “That sounds a bit strange. I want to dive in a little more.”

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering rewards for information leading to Quarry’s capture and encourages anyone with details to reach out via 1-800-220-TIPS or online.
