Greetings, dear reader,
Having a child can really change your perspective. I’ve gone full-on parenting mode. Every time I see a child in a vulnerable position, it sparks something intense in me.
So, you can imagine my response to a recent report that’s been making waves, particularly concerning the actions of a certain mother, Meg Brock.
“Vulnerable children”
It’s challenging—and honestly, quite sad—to examine how we’ve gotten to a point in America where discussions around sexual transition for children are happening so frequently and casually.
Meg Brock, an investigator, has released a series of internal messages from the World Specialist Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). This organization operates under the guise of scientific legitimacy, advocating for gender transition, particularly for minors, while seeming to intimidate other health organizations into compliance.
These messages reveal WPATH officials criticizing parents who express even a hint of hesitance about allowing their children to use puberty blockers and cross hormones. It looks like those who manage to sway skeptical parents end up adopting a similar outlook.
In two particularly troubling instances, WPATH members discussed teens on cross hormones who were “developmentally delayed” and reconsidering their decisions about transitioning.
In one case, they talked about ways to harvest sperm from a boy who, despite facing challenges due to hormone treatments, was simply seen as a child rather than supported in his identity.
In another instance, a young girl undergoing Christian counseling was discussed among WPATH members in a way that aimed to steer her away from her faith, while they encouraged her to undergo irreversible surgery and sterilization.
From the blocked article [Note: they refer to the biological girl as “him” throughout]:
“I need resources for young adults questioning their gender identity. They lack support at home. They’re gentle and developmentally behind. They mentioned seeing a Christian counselor.”
“Initially, he identified as male and wanted hormone therapy and surgery. Due to daily challenges, he has now reconsidered and isn’t pursuing those treatments,” the members noted.
WPATH members admitted they couldn’t engage formally with this young woman since she was no longer a patient in their program, but they looked for ways to maintain contact and support her, including involving a pastor sympathetic to her situation.
“I can’t formally work with him because he’s no longer in our program, but I want to help,” a WPATH member indicated.
There’s a lot to unpack here, and honestly, it feels rather alarming.
It’s troubling to think that children might be coerced into irreversible decisions based on questionable science. This should lead to more than just online outrage; it demands serious accountability. Those who promote such irreversible changes to a child’s biology, based on misleading data, should face severe repercussions.
“The shared messages imply that parents risk their child’s well-being by questioning their gender ideology,” says Dr. Kurt Miseli, Medical Director.
“This isn’t what healthy clinical practice looks like. We’re looking to challenge harmful ideologies that ignore biological realities and the distress adolescents face, often leaving parents out of the equation,” adds Miseli. “These are kids who are being rushed through complex decisions in a biased system.”
Child welfare should be a priority for everyone. Even individuals with impressive credentials must be held accountable for harmful practices.
I’ll keep reporting on these critical issues, but it feels like change won’t happen until we see tangible consequences.
Republican AGs need to gather their resources and push for actual investigations. Sometimes, the law might need to be stretched a bit.
Until we see real action, questionable characters within organizations like WPATH will continue their agendas.
